ACA Foundation

ACA Foundation Overview

The Association of Canadian Archivists Foundation (ACAF) was created and federally incorporated by the Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA) in June 2006 and has received a Certificate of Continuance under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA) in 2012.

ACA Foundation Objectives

The ACAF is a fundraising and fund-granting charitable organization, with the specific aim of supporting the educational and research needs of the Canadian archival profession. The ACAF aims to advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to post-secondary students, graduates, and professionals to be used for education and training in the fields of archival sciences, record keeping and information management.

Its key areas of focus are the following:

  • to provide bursaries to Canadians and landed immigrants, who are attending universities or colleges that are Canadian registered and who are enrolled in archival-related disciplines.

  • to administer and fundraise for the ACAF Scholarship Endowment Fund, established in 2010. This Fund was set up to produce a long-term income stream for the provision of scholarships to archival studies students and thus support the Canadian archival profession.
